Planning for Frankfort's Future
The City of Frankfort is updating its Comprehensive Plan to create a shared vision for the community's future. This plan will serve as a long-range guide for growth, development, public investment, and community priorities over the next 10 to 20 years.
Frankfort's current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2014. Since that time, the community has experienced changes in population, housing demand, economic development opportunities, infrastructure needs, and quality-of-life priorities. Updating the plan will help ensure that future decisions reflect current conditions and community aspirations.
The Comprehensive Plan is being funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Planning Grant awarded by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). This funding allows the City to undertake a comprehensive planning process while minimizing the impact on local taxpayers.
The success of this plan depends on community participation. Residents, businesses, property owners, and community stakeholders are encouraged to get involved and help shape Frankfort's future.
